Dani

Hey. You wanted to talk? I've got a review in twenty minutes, so... what's up?

The conversations you keep postponing.

The ones you rehearse in the shower and then avoid at work. The people you practice with push back like the real ones: they soften when you are specific, fair and clear, and harden when you hedge or attack. Get it wrong here, where it costs nothing.

    Read the brief

Walk in knowing what happened, what you need to get out of it, and what you are up against. No more improvising the opening line.

  2. 2

    Make the call

Say it out loud to someone who interrupts, deflects and tests you. The stumbles happen here instead of in the meeting.

HR is in the loop

One office. One memory.

At work nothing happens in isolation: your reports compare notes and your manager hears things. The people you practice with all work at Northpoint and share one memory of you, so you learn to manage the room, not just the meeting.

  • Every relationship has a warmth from 0 to 10. Everyone starts at 5.
  • Only the notable travels. A mediocre call is not discussed in the hallway. One where you humiliated someone is.
  • Rumors lose strength going up. Your reports hear far more than the VP does.
  • Damage a relationship and “Clear the Air” appears with that person. It stays until you repair it, so you also practice the conversation most managers never have: the apology.

Trust, session by session.

Trust is not a score you get once. This is Dani across eight sessions: two feedback calls that went badly, the repair, and the climb back. It is the same curve you are managing with real people, except here you can see it. Hover a point for what happened.

The Standing tab shows the same for the whole office, so you know who trusts you and who is still waiting to see, before you walk into the next meeting.

Harder never means more stubborn.

Real conversations do not get harder because people get more stubborn. They get harder because HR is now in the loop, the client already called, or the resignation is half written. Each scenario has three levels that raise the stakes, so you are ready when the easy version is no longer on the table.

Thursday I have the 1:1 with Alex. Last time was a 5.8. What do I do differently?
Last time you opened with the sprint and Alex gave you “all good” twice. Open with an observation instead: “You've been quieter in standup for three weeks. I noticed.” Then stop talking. The silence is the tool.

Questions, answered.

Is the other person a real human?

No, and that is the point: you can be clumsy, restart, or say the thing you would never risk saying to a real colleague. Every counterpart is an AI character with a written personality, a history with you and a reason to resist. They stay in character for the whole call and soften only when you are specific, fair and clear.

What do I need to practice?

A phone, a quiet room and about ten minutes. Headphones help but are not required. Microphone access is requested the first time you start a call.

How does the score work?

After each call, the transcript is scored on the two things that decide whether a hard conversation works: clarity and directness, and listening and empathy. You get an overall mark out of 10, what worked, what to change next time and a verdict, so you stop guessing whether you were too soft or too harsh. Pass the level's mark and the next level unlocks.

What does “the office remembers” mean?

The characters all work at the same company and share one memory of you. Each relationship has a warmth score from 0 to 10. A notable conversation, good or bad, reaches the others through the grapevine, with less strength the further up it travels. Damage a relationship and a repair scenario appears with that person until you fix it.

Is my voice recorded?

Audio is processed in real time to run the conversation and is not stored. The text transcript and the score are kept in your account so you can review your progress. You can delete your account, transcripts included, from inside the app.

What is free, and what does Pro add?

Free includes Give Hard Feedback with all its levels and 10 voice minutes a month. Pro unlocks every scenario, repairs and weekly events, the career coach and 100 voice minutes a month (150 on the yearly plan), for $39.99 a year or $6.99 a month after a 7-day trial.
